Book Review: The Threefold Human Organism, by Eugen Kolisko
Be sure to read "How I found Kolisko" below.
These are really lecture notes. He asked that they not be published since they are really just notes, and not intended to be published in their form, and he was afraid ideas would be misrepresented. I can certainly understand that! But I would never know anything about him or his thoughts I this little book were not published. He was a student of Rudolph Steiner. Like my other encounters with Steiner's ideas, I like the categories of thought, but not so much the content of those categories. Categories of thought are like
1) the universe is only matter (no life, no consciousness)
2) the universe is a mix of matter, life, consciousness, Logos, Love
Once you decide whether you are a category 1) person or a category 2) person, then you can fill in various content. You might be a category 1) person living in 1890 and thinking thoughts about thermodynamics. Then your son, in 1920, fills his thoughts with different content called Quantum Mechanics. You have very different thoughts. But are both thinking inside the category of materialism.
Getting back to Eugen Kolisko, I like his categories of thought: the bodily foundations of thought, feeling, will; man's connection to the whole universe. But the details, the specific content, does not appeal to me.
How I found Kolisko
I was researching experiments on planetary correlations: like correlations between numbers of Aurora on Earth to the locations of the other planets. (Yes, they are correlated, see for example http://arxiv.org/ftp/arxiv/papers/1302/1302.2190.pdf ) And I found the work of Lilly Kolisko, Eugen's wife. Fascinating stuff, showing that the behaviors of different metal salt solutions are dependent upon the motions of the planets. And, more specifically, that solutions of different metals respond differently to different planets. For example, Mercury-Chloride solutions respond to the motions of the planet Mercury, but not to the motions of out Moon. Silver-Nitrate solutions respond to the motions of our Moon.

These would be great experiments for a High School or College Chemistry class. But, I guess our advanced age would dismiss out of hand any possible connections between such things.
